Cool! Looks like there may be options. Not sure they would work with the kind of staples I have but might be an option in the future.

I've been up since 2:30am. DH's blood sugar alarm went off then. It made for a convenient potty time, and I couldn't fall asleep after. There's a line of heavy, heavy thunderstorms out there. I got outside and invited the dogs to come out of their crates and go potty in the dark with lightening flashing in the distance. They looked at me like I was an idiot and said - no thanks. Watched a bit of the weather forecast that advised we might have up to 60mph winds and decided I should move one of the portable chicken coops into a more protected area of the yard. Grabbed a headlamp and headed out in light rain to drag that coop around. Had breakfast while I was out there. Note to self - don't open your mouth when you have a headlamp on. It attracts bugs. Bugs do not make a good breakfast!

It's almost 5am now and that one cup of coffee gave up already.

Will wonders never cease! Now that I've got several hens in a coop I'm getting eggs again! I got all the birds that were in the backyard cooped but still have some running around the big barn. That's generally not a problem. They have a corner of the barn blocked off for them and a nestbox in there. The problem is that they either aren't using the nestbox or they're not laying, or more likely, the dogs are finding the eggs before I do. I caught one hen yesterday evening and put her in the coop too. That leaves about 3 more still several running around out there so I'll try to catch them too. That will give me 10 hens in the coop. I need to get the run completed so they don't have to stay in that coop all day! Guess that'll be the chore of the day.

I didn't do much over the weekend except normal chores. Watched DH's University of Texas football team kick some butt Saturday and watched the Texans do the same yesterday. It was nice to have both teams win - makes for better moods around here, lol.

Finally had that eggplant casserole last night. Made a bad mistake though - went into the garden area yesterday and found a few more ready to pick. A mere 14 to go with the two already in the fridge. What the heck am I going to do with all that eggplant? I may have to do a drop and run at the neighbors, lol. Not even sure they like eggplant...

Off to Google to look up ways to preserve it.

I've sliced, breaded & cooked some, then frozen. Works for fast eggplant parm. It's a "soft" cooked dish anyway, so texture is about the same.
I think I'll do some that way for eggplant parm. Also going to bake some and freeze it as puree for casseroles. I love eggplant but this is ridiculous, lol!
