Up well before the sun today. Lounging around with my 2nd cup of coffee in hand. Have to run a couple errands later this morning - boo!

Finally finished the chicken run so that the birds in the new coop can get out and do chicken things in the sunshine. Also threw together a smaller coop and run a couple days ago. Have all the chickens penned right now except one extra roo. The girls have finished their molt and I'm waiting anxiously for production to ramp up. With 10 hens (8 laying age) and getting less than a dozen eggs a week is no bueno! Have 20 silkie eggs in the incubator and all appear to be fertile. Eight of them are shipped eggs so :fl that they do well. Guess my next project(s) is for more chicken tractors for the silkies. WooHoo! I kinda like building things, silly me!

DH fell outside a couple days ago. Grass is soft so no major injuries. He's sore, but it could be worse. Sigh...

Piggies are growing like pigs! Goat bellies are growing and there's udder development happening. Should be at least 6+ weeks before any babies make their appearance. CDT boosters to mama goats on the agenda soon. Couple of the gals need a copper bolus too. Always something!

Sun beat me up this morning! I'd like to say I slept later, but mostly I just laid in bed later. Didn't run errands yesterday like I thought I would. It's hard for me to break away from the house to run errands when the weather is so perfect for outside work.

I moved a couple goats around and did a couple of copper boluses for some that missed out last time. Dug out a gate that wasn't shutting well too. That was a small walk-through gate at the barn and basically just had to shovel up some nice, soft goat poo. Made me think about needing to add some barn gold to the raised beds. Pigs mostly cleaned them out for me so all I really need to do is level them out. If I'm able to add goat poo that'll be a bonus - if not it'll happen in the spring. I think I can get some done. I'm going to start some broccoli and cabbage today. If my seeds are still viable they should start quickly sitting on top of the nice warm brooder. I know I'm late, but I'm counting on our long season to help me out here. I'll direct sow some turnips, carrots, collards and radishes. Fingers crossed that I'm not wasting time, effort and seeds.

Happy Wednesday ya'll!

Got a 4 x10ft bed planted with 3 rows of turnips. Tried to finish cleaning out a 4 x 8ft bed that the pigs started but didn't finish. Want to put carrots there. Problem -my trusty OLD pitchfork that I was using to loosen the soil gave up. Wooden handle broke right off - ugh. Could probably have a new handle attached, but right now I'm waiting for a new one to be delivered. I'm thinking I can get 4 rows of carrots in there. Noticed a recurrence of my bicep tendonitis creeping back in so I'll be a little more careful when I get started again.

Need to start thinking about Christmas shopping. It'll sneak up on me if I don't.

Need to start thinking about breakfast first. More coffee and sustenance is in order!

Finally got carrots planted today. Soaked the bed really well, put seeds in dirt, soaked it again and covered it all with cardboard then soaked the cardboard, lol. Dark and moist seems to be the trick. Hope so! I worked up another bed with my new digging fork. I'll put collards there. Hope to get that done within the next day or so. Tomorrow would be great, but I've gotta go to town - ugh. Hopefully it won't tke the whole day, lol. Gotta go get that free turkey. All I have to do is buy a ham. Heck, I was gonna buy a ham anyway so BONUS!

Turnips are poking through the ground! YaY! Not sure yet if I'll have any empty spaces to fill. I'll need to give it a couple more days before I know. Carrots are still covered and being kept moist. That's going to go on for some time. I neeeeed carrots! Going to try to get collards planted within the next couple days. Today maybe....but have some 'stuff' to get done first.

Had a really bad night Monday but we got through it. The blood glucose sensor was misbehaving and it almost cost DH dearly. I'll spare the details but it was not good. On second thought, he's still here so that IS good!

As usual - too much to do and not enough of me to get it all done. If Tom Brady can clone his dog, why can't I have a couple clones of me, lol? Or robots - house cleaning, garden planting, goat caretaking, and gourmet chef kinda robots! I like that idea.
