Failed again...dogs win and I give up.

Been dealing with Christmas gifts. Got most of 'em wrapped and labeled. I needed to remember everything I had and who it went to, lol. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost, misplaced or thrown away a gift for GS's girlfriend. ARGH - money down the drain. I'll keep fingers crossed that it turns up eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Worked on kidding pens yesterday. Not all complete but really close. I can probably finish them in under an hour. Then I'll get 'em raked out and put fresh bedding in and twiddle my thumbs until someone decides it's "time."

Yay! I found the gift that I thought I'd lost. Embarrassed to say it was on the dining room table the whole time. Might've helped that I cleaned a bunch of other gifts off of the table and voila!

Rain in the forecast for the next couple of days. Following that we could have the first possible freeze of the season. Not really looking forward to that. I've been getting fall tomatoes (!) and the freeze will put an end to that. Guess I'll pick all the green ones tomorrow night. I'm wondering if there's any chance I could over-winter these plants if I cut them back, mulch them well and cover them on the cold nights? Might give it a try or might just let nature take its course, lol. Don't really need anything else to take care of...

Whew - yesterday was a day! The good part was that the Texans won AGAIN! That's 6 games in a row and a total of 9 wins for the season - so far. They are kicking butt and taking names!

The bad part was that I lost one of my dogs. Lost as in lost - not dead! She was missing for about 10 hours. She musta slipped out the gate when I was feeding and I didn't even notice she was missing for several hours. I drove around looking for her - windows down, whistling and calling for her. Nope... It was really windy so I worried that she simply couldn't hear me. Watched the first half of the game and went out again at halftime. Nothing. Posted on our Facebook page and waited and waited while the last half of the game played out. Finally had a hit on her pic and someone thought she was posted on a different facebook page. VOILA! It was her. Turns out that she went a few houses down the road and they brought her inside since it was a cold day. They all fell in love with each other, lol. She was spoiled and loved on continuously for about 8 hours by my neighbors. We finally got in contact with each other, and she is back home now - but what a crazy emotional day. I know where to look if she ever goes missing again!

Need to get outside to do chores. Hoping it will warm up a little but unless it hits at least 80 I'm not going to be happy. Guess I should just layer up and do it. Need to hit the feed store and also pick up a few groceries for people too. Grands are coming on Friday so I need to clean out the junk food section at the store. Those kiddos like to eat. Guess I shouldn't call them kiddos anymore - they're 18 and 19. How in the world did that happen?

DH is still laid up in bed...must be nice! Chore time for me.

glad your pup made it home again safe and sound
Thanks! I was glad too - until she started barking and agitating the other dogs, lol. But, that's who she is, and I love her in spite of her big mouth!

I was tired last night and went to bed at 8pm. Couldn't fall asleep though until close to 10. DH had a low blood sugar episode at 2 and I couldn't go back to sleep so I got up. I KNOW this will screw up my whole day - but it didn't make sense to just lay in bed with my eyes wide open.

Got DH's pills in their dispenser for the week and cleaned out a kitchen cabinet that had gotten messy and unorganized. Need to wrap a few more gifts. Have folded laundry on the sofa that needs to go upstairs. Plenty to do. I can only imagine that I'll run out of steam and need a nap at some point today.

I have so much to do that I don't even know where to start. I need to work outside, and I need to work inside just as much. Weather is warming back up to good outside working weather so I'll try to split my time between both.

Picked up a few groceries but need tons more before the grands get here! Got livestock feed yesterday also but still need to get shavings for the kidding stalls. Baby goats could happen soon - maybe by the weekend!
