Two more bucklings added to the kid count this morning. I'll be glad when kidding season is OVER with. Maybe two more does left. One of 'em has a good belly going but no udder development yet. The other one barely has a belly at all. She wouldn't be due until May(ish) if she even settled. Time will tell I guess.

It's been a goat day - all day! Babies this morning and later had a call from a guy who buys goats from me almost every year. He came out, looked around and spoke for EIGHT goats. He'll be back this weekend to pick 'em up. I need to get busy worming and doing toltrazuril treatments. Gotta make sure everybody is in tip top shape before their move.

I have a couple late kidders....March & April. Fine with me...no snow! 
And way fewer to kid, as I'd sold several adults earlier. It's somewhat refreshing!

Yep, I've got at least one more - and possibly 3 left to kid. Two of 'em aren't being obvious so time will tell. I'd be ok if they didn't.

It'll be another outside day today. Caught almost all of the goat kids yesterday and got them wormed and treated with a coccidia preventative. Have two left that didn't get treated. Gotta rectify that today. They don't love me much right now.
Been getting DH outside and walking every day. Actually, had two sessions one day. I swear the first 5 days he whined like a little girl, lol. His hips flexors hurt. I guess they do! When you've sat the majority of the last couple years they shorten and protest mightily when you want them to do their job again. However, the last couple of days I see an improvement. He's able to walk further, faster and with less pain than when we started. Hallelujah - there's hope!
I'm still on a mission to get animal care streamlined for the neighbor girl who will take care of things while we are gone in March. I got the pig waterer finished yesterday and it seems to be working well. Turned out some young silkies into the garden area for clean-up duty. I'm a little worried that they might become snacks for some predator though. I'm really only worried about owls but there's plenty of places for them to hide in the overgrown areas. There's also plenty of green things for them to eat. It's been an awesome year for chickweed, and the chicks are loving every bite!
