Always room for more! It'll be fun and I'm looking forward to it.

it sure is a good way to find out if you are really compatible with someone is to take off in the middle of winter for a trip across the country.

we didn't have chains for the tires in some passes where it would have been a good idea and we had to stop in the park visitor center at the Grand Tetons to get a postcard of what we would have seen if it hadn't been snowing but it was all good. we're even still friends all these years later.

Son and DIL came for dinner last night. Burgers, meatloaf and all manner of carbs. Tasty but DH's blood sugar was not appreciative. Boo...

While they were here DS put some new rollers on my garage doors. What a relief that is. It's been a struggle to raise the doors for quite some time now. DS wasn't aware of how hard they were and as soon as he tried to open a door a couple of weeks ago he had me order new rollers. Literally only took about 10 minutes (if that) to put the new ones on. What a huge difference! He also leveled the other one that was wonky. And, as an added bonus the locks works again!

We also ordered the security cameras. They'll be delivered today. Another bonus - the ones we're putting inside will ease my mind when I'm gone and DH is home alone. I can check on him remotely and talk to him through the cameras.

DIL works at a school so is on spring break this week. We're going shopping this morning - it'll be fun. We'll probably have lunch while we're out also. Girls day!

Suns coming up so I need to get outside. Possible storms tomorrow. Ugh!

Wow - already Friday. Where did the week go? I'm meeting myself coming and going these days. Still concentrating daily on trying to make the feeding chores more streamlined for the neighbor who's going to be watching the critters for me. I'm not comfortable leaving critters but gotta do whatcha gotta do. I'm not going to miss DGS's graduation - so I have to just hope for the best while I'm gone.

It got coldish again. Not so fond of that. Low this morning was in the high 30's. We've had lows in the high 60's for a week or so and I was quite ok with that. Back to leggings instead of shorts.

I'm hemorrhaging money connected with this trip. DH and I have both lost some weight and none of our clothes fit so basically we've got a weeks worth of a new wardrobe, lol. I don't mind wearing my big sloppies around the house - but can't do it in public, lol!

Now we've also got to contend with higher gas prices. Not going to go on a tangent lest I get banned but geeze, the timing sure sucks!

Best get busy.

Hey, you needed new clothes! Lost weight, usually good 😊
When you can't walk without your pants threatening to abandon ship - it's time for some new ones, lol.

Well, I did it again! Sold 5 more goats today. That leaves me with only 13 adult goats right now. I've got a couple of does and two doelings that are on the "maybe" sell list. Might be considering a couple more Boer does in the future. Who knows?

Good job! I'm still thinking to cut back to 2-3 good dairy girls & enough Boer to keep things eaten down. They take less "hands on" without the milking chores. BUT I'm not ready to give up my fresh milk dairy stuff. There are days when 2 dairy & 6 hens look good. It's aging out thoughts.

I get it.

Another reason to keep the numbers controllable is the "what if" thoughts. I wouldn't want to leave anyone the problem of what to do with 20-30 goats. It'll be enough if they have to deal with a dozen or so. Enough of those thoughts. They have their place, but not a thing to dwell on.

DS got the security cameras installed yesterday. We have them inside and outside. When DIL and I walked out to the pond we could pull up the LR camera and see DH and DS. Great spy tool, lol. But also, a great feeling to be able to check on DH from a distance. Shoulda done it a long time ago.
