Funny, but a true story!!!

I have to say, I'm a pharmacist and I use google when my MicroMedex or Clinical Pharmacology don't come with a quick answer to what the doc on the other end of the phone wants to know. It is quick, and if you know how to sort the reputable from disreputable sites it works well.

Yeah, but wouldn't you think he would check in a physicians manual or a search engine dedicated to doctor stuff ( I know they are out there). but he uses google?!?!?!?!?
Are you absolutely certain he ONLY used Google? Docs have designated on-line doctor webs like WebMD and others that are super scientific and researched...

I can see how it might be less than reassuring, but I would be glad my doc bothered researching instead of just sticking your DD on any ol' antibiotic that may not have killed that particular organism. Hope she's better!

Yes. He used google. DD and I were sitting right there and saw him type in "rabbit scratch". go ahead and try it. He scanned the first 4 pages, went back to page one, and clicked on Yahoo answers. REad it breifly and turned to talk to us.

He did not look at anything medical. he did not look up any antibiotic treatment or protocol. He LOOKED ON YAHOO ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!

i could totally understand looking on a medical website, but he DID NOT!!! He googled it, just the same as if you or I google it.

Both dd and i could read what he was looking at, and we kept exchanging glances, until he talked to us.

Actually, I think it's funny too. Now, you will hear a lot of warnings about how you shouldn't look up anything medical online because it may be wrong, but the doctors do it!!! Google is like the first place I go if I have a question, lol.

That's the thing, almost ANYONE can put anything on the web now.
He went to how many years of schooling? Most doctors treat all minor infections the same, so I doubt googling it would have given him a different answer.
I don't find it funny at all, I find it very pathetic.

Meh, she needed his signature for the prescription. Antibiotics are a given for infection. Who cares how he came to the conclusion, so long as she got proper treatment. :/ At least she didn't google it herself and buy fish antibiotics or something, lol.

After getting the prescription, you should have gone to his computer and googled "How much should I pay this jerk?"
