I am looking for some advice on what breed of goat we should be looking for. We are thinking about getting a couple of dairy goats. We would diffidently want a small breed. I would love to get opinions or advice on the matter. Or even some trust worthy sites I can take a look at. We are just starting our research, so anything would be helpful.

Thanks!

A mini nubian, a Nigerian dwarf or cross would be my pick. But sometimes it comes down to what's available.

Mine are:

1) daisy. Her mom is a bure boar and her dad is a nubianXalpine mix
2) peaches. Her mom is a sister to daisys mom, full boar and dad is same
3) natasha. Mom was nubianXalpine dad was boar
4) bambi. Sister to natasha

5) mo. My billy. His mom was purebred nubian. And dad was the BIGGEST boar goat I have ever seen!

I am wanting goats that will give milk, but with offspring that will be good for butchering.

My nannys may give slightly less milk, but I feel the meat makes up for it.

You will find lots of info here. http://www.fiascofarm.com/

If it were up to me I'd get La Manchas or mini Manchas. Theyre so ugly they're cute and their personalities are so sweet.
