My son has been working on this for several years. He is currently in Malaysia working on a two year project to develop solar drive ways. Progress in lithium/ion and rechargeable battery technology has opened new doors of opportunity for this idea. The Malaysian govt. is spending billions to research the viability for highway use of photovoltaic panels. Most of this development is classified due to concerns of sabotage by the OPEC nations. Politics and greed seems to screw up everything.

Can you imagine plugging your house into your driveway instead of into the grid? There is also developing technology in solar heated photovoltaic driveways to eliminate the need to shovel snow and ice. This would have been a great winter for that!

That is so amazing. Can't they include a heating element so the snow melts? No more plows, shoveling or ice.
