Hi all,
What are some plants that will do well here in the desert? I want to do a small orchard as well and wondering what trees would do good in heat.

Hi there. There are various types of deserts - some at low elevation, some at high ones. What is your annual rainfall? Approx where are you located?
We get about 10-14 inchs of rain a year. I'm thinking maybe some succulents that flower would be nice. I'm near west TX.

Depends on if you water. Your weather in Texas is different from what I know from eastern Oregon/Washington.

With irrigation, many plants do well depending on climate.

They dryland wheat farm in the high desert here with 9 inches annual rainfall. Fall plant because most of the rain is in winter as ice/snow.

a tough area.

i'd go with desert compatible landscaping that requires no watering other than the first few shots to get any plants established.

what is your water situation like? well or city water or ?
