Heal Naturally - Go To Jail

With our health issues (I have Meniere's disease and hubby has epilepsy) we need our prescription drugs in this family.

But even my M.D. specialist has trouble getting the things he wants to use for his patients because of our laws, etc. with our CURRENT laws. Technology marches faster than the approval process for medications. The laws are already too restrictive, they don't need to be tightened.

Couldn't agree with you more.

As far as doctors go....who goes to doctors? I don't think I have been to one in 10 or 15 years.
Congratulations; I'm glad that you haven't had any major medical problems.
We (DH and I) are both basically healthy - I take no prescription drugs, and he takes 2 - I am 59, he is 62.
That said, he had cancer several years ago - 3 primary cancers (i.e. not related to each other, all different) diagnosed and treated within 9 months. He takes thyroid because he has none of his own (thyroid removed because cancerous). (Going to doctors was a good idea that year ;)) His borderline high BP could be handled by losing weight, but that is something we are still working on.
2 weeks ago he had a pain in his stomach - his (and my) first reaction was to wait and see (because "who goes to doctors?"). It got worse. DH has a very high pain threshold, so if he says it hurts you can bet that it really hurts. So, we went to the urgent care, and then for an ultrasound, and then he spent the night in the hospital after emergency hernia repair. He saw the surgeon yesterday for his post-op check (he is doing great), and was told that had he waited even just 6 more hours before seeing the doctor the bit of intestine poking through his belly muscle would have needed to be removed, and everything would have been much harder, much longer, and more dangerous (and, of course, more expensive).
So, who goes to doctors? People who need to - that is, if they are smart. Doctors are there for a reason; they are a tool to be used. Yes, many people use them to excess, and don't do for themselves when they can, and don't bother to learn how to take care of the little things - but to put out the blanket question of "who goes to doctors?" in that way only points out to me that you are still young enough to have not needed to.
Sorry for the rant. It just bothers me that doctors are painted with such a broad brush - they are not evil people out to steal your money; they are professionals doing their job.
Now, Big Pharma is another matter - they are evil entities out to steal your money
Sorry that you took it wrong. It wasn't meant to be a slam on anyone.

I have absolutely no problems with doctors. In fact, my wife is a nurse so half of our income comes from the medical field.

My comment is more on the lines of saying that I avoid them as long as I can. Some people can't and I understand that.

But some people tend to go to them for every little ailment which drives everyone's health insurance costs up.

Oh, and while I am on that subject, I do not think that free health care is a right either.....;)

Well, free health care isn't really free anyway now is it? ;)

My only beef right now against Australia is the censorship issues.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/mar/29/google-yahoo-australia-internet-filter
Huge censorship country! But america we are next! Like i keep saying get the amateur radios going.(set up our own internet within the next 5 yrs.look i am still searching for a good system, so i dont have all the answers. I do know that, They can never ever censor that. They can try to jam every frequency known to man. But that is impossible!

Ohhh whats that great quote by
One of our greatest founding fathers(jefferson)

"If the people let government decide
what foods they eat and what medicines they take,
their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state
as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."

These people were truely brilliant. Ohh and the constitution was written on hemP paper. Ohh who else said some thing about hemp. Ohh was it
George washington who said some thing like, all americans should grow hemp in there yards!! That is no joke.

See how much our country has changed!!:(
Wakey! Wakey!
And on top of this... There seems to be a huge economic collapse around the corner........ Lol. Too many laws and no jobs! Not a good combo, it restricts freedom and economic growth!!!
And china is taking all of our natural resources along with our debt! Not good at all!(large amts of metals are being shipped out!(maybe for foreign battle ships? Lol)
IM Sorry to be a debbie downer lol :P

Honestly, the only bit of censorship I've experienced so far down here was a tv show that had originally aired in the UK having a clip deleted because it was deemed racist and offensive. :idunno

Seriously, it's worse in China...
The system isnt fully ready yet, but they want to put roadblock servers in line with the major internet data highways and Filter/censor peoples searches or restricting websites. Once they start labeling the information as ofensive they can use the same lingo to censor important news that the public needs to know,BUT THE GOV Doesnt want people to know. That is why censorship is bad. The govs will use censorship corruptly to protect there own ass, and leave the public eternally in the dark.

And the war on anything but "main stream" medicine continues.

NC bill threatens to criminalize naturopaths, homeopaths, herbalists, midwives, aromatherapists as felons

What is this, stupid government day? I guess the AMA has bought them some state senators. Geeze, why do politicians feel they have to... aww never mind. I get so aggravated with this kind of stuff that I could spit! :he
Just so we keep some "Perspective" I notice that the chiropractor's are not on the list. Seems that they might have some of the say in this, too! Frankly, the insurance company's are at the heart of this if you ask me, not the AMA.

No it isn't.

Well, it might be "free" for some people. You know, the ones that don't pay for anything the rest of us provide. ;)

Exactly. TANSTAAFL. Someone always has to pay. Hiding the cost leads to corruption and distortion. Basically institutionalized theft.
