The language, young man!! A wok is a sort of bowl used to cook in. You can cook some stuff longer and/or hotter by putting it in the bottom, and other things can be scooped up away from the heat by putting them further up the sides. It comes with a ring to steady it on the stove.

Free, funny you should post this thread. I was in a Chinese place the other day for lunch and my attention was drawn to three ladies helping themselves to the buffet. It was obviously a three generation luncheon, with the older lady about in her 80s.

I was guessing the older lady had never been in a Chinese eatery before, as the daughter was explaining each dish. When she got to General Tso's chicken, she seemed at a loss as to how to explain that one:

"Now, I don't know who General Tso is, but his chicken is really good! You should try it!"

i just made this - its FANTASTIC. and easy. and all i've done is pine away from good chinese food since i moved from the west coast....and wow here it is!!! easy and quick! very flavorful!!
