Since I am due to have a baby five weeks from today, I'm going to start now and attempt to complete the month before I have the baby because I'm sure that our cooking/eating habits will go right out the window for at least a few weeks :)

I'm going to start with the assumption that I have what I already have, because if I were to apply for aid I wouldn't throw all my food away and start over... but I will track what the portions that we are eating cost.

How are we tracking... should I type out what we eat for each meal and how much that would cost? or are we just posting our weekly shopping lists, and then tracking what we eat?

This is going to be a fun experiment :)

I'd say post what you spend, what you spend it on, and any good, cheap recipes that you can share w/the group.

I like the simplicity of just going forward from where you are at the moment :)

That certainly would make it simpler, but in my case I could probably eat for the month with hardly any shopping at all . Maybe I will allow myself to already have staples like salt, pepper, mustard and that sort of thing.
Welcome to the experiment, Heather.
