Hello from Mississippi

Im in NE mississippi and im trying to get a small homestead started.

My main interests for my homestead are getting chickens for meat/eggs and having a small orchard (apple, crabapple, nectarines, etc) and i also grow muscadines (aka- southern grape). i intend on making wines and jellies with these. i also grow veggies and have some herbs i haven't grown yet....

im wanting to go more the organic route and i hope to meet/network in with other homesteader's in mississippi and in the surrounding states.

i made a mead last year with muscadines in it. Turned out pretty good.

wannabefree...it sounds like we are about an hour away. its good to know there is another homesteader close by.

There are several more close by to me as well. Pinkfox is just about a half hour further North too No worries, you're in good company around here I know lots of people, and about half my customers and friends are South of me in Mississippi. nothing yet.... im just getting started getting my lil "orchard" growing....but im really excited about doing it...
