I know there is a way to do this but I cannot remember. I have a small glass thermometer with red fluid. The fluid inside has separated and I cannot read it anymore. I have tried to sling it like a nurse would do before taking your temp. but there are air bubbles still in there. Any suggestions on how to get the bubbles out?

I thought of that but the thermometer is built into a sling psychrometer that can't be put into boiling water.

Mine is similar to this

I have tried to dip it into ice water with no success. I keep trying to sling it hard to make the fluid spirit go down but it ain't a'workin. I'm pretty sure there is a way to do it but I can't remember.

I looked on line - it said to tie a string around (through?) it securely and swing it over your head. Maybe they just want to see if people will try it? :hu
