I was going to make ribs for dinner, but now... Well they call for an hour of boiling, and an hour of baking. If I turned on my oven in this HEAT I would DIE. 75 degrees is stupid in Washington. I'm a Washingtonian all the way, and as such, I hate heat! And by heat, I mean, anything above 72. When I visited Japan I nearly died. It's so humid, you wouldn't believe it. When I visit Eastern Washington I stay inside.

(And there is no reason to get a house with AC in Western Washington. Today is a fluke!)

I cook my ribs by marinating over night and slow roasting on the grill. Much cooler inside!

OR stick them in your crock pot! That would taste great as well.

Oh, and on a side note, I was flipping through a Reader's Digest that was in the break room... It is talking about things to do to save money, and it says that lots of people are turning to gardening, but FIRST think of these things.

-It can tear up your hands

-It can rip your clothes

-It can be filled with disappointments

-It can suck up an entire weekend!

I wanted to find the author of that article and say some choice words.

O.k. Thank you for the reassurance! It is already feeling a bit cooler in the outside dog run of sorts. I moved the poor muts in there a minute ago. There is a breeze atleast.

In Houston, OMG humidity times a million!! Well there, if it was aggressively hot(er), the old timers said that there was a cool front pushing hot air ahead of it, so cooler air would follow. Not always true, but I hope it is the case with today's heat and scorching sun up here. My friends in TX would probably say I've gone soft complaining about 75 degree weather when they are suffering right now with 90+ degree weather!! I moved here to cool off!!

So what are you going to eat now HennyPenny? Ribs are out of the question unless you are bbq-ing them in the shade!

I think it is a sandwhich night for me with a nice cool slab of tomato and crisp romaine lettuce!

I can guran-durn-tee you that author was from TX!! Where everything IS out to get you and it is so durn hot you will consider spendig time outdoors as a dissapointing ate up weekend!!!!!

Now that is a good idea!!! Crock pot ribs?! I'm using my crock pot for sauerkraut right now, but would you tell me how to make crock pot ribs please?

If so - where is the warning about fire ants???

In Tomball we did our gardening before 7 am and after 10 pm!

OMG a kindered soul! Right about the fire ants! Do you remember how much "fun" it was to search for Easter eggs and those chocolate candies when you are dealing with scorching heat and fire ants!! (I mean no disrespect to my fellow Texans out there, it was just not for me! I gave it my best 35 years, but could do no more!)
