Lovin' The Homestead
That's true Keljonma, I forgot! I could check Goodwill, also.
I did some recalculating for the soap I made, as far as prices. I actually worked out the math instead of estimating, lol. If I bought the coconut oil from the Soap Bar in town, each bar would cost me $.78. As it is, this batch cost a bit more. But still a relatively cheap hobby. Compare to quilting! Unless you are magic at finding deals at yard sales. Some co-workers are! "Oh, I got a bag of mixed fabric for $1.00! And batting in an unopened package, too!"
I never find such good deals.
If I move back to Gig Harbor, I should go garage saleing with my dad, who lives in Tacoma. He's awesome at haggling. Not mean or annoying at all. He just somehow knows what someone is willing to take for an item. And most importantly, he knows what he's willing to pay! Every other year there is a massive neighborhood garage sale in Tacoma. Good times, and even better deals. I think I got my cast iron skillet one year. He's gotten CBs (trucker radios), police scanners (nice for his neighborhood!), blenders, dvd players, speakers, truck parts, you name it. Well I suppose this is nothing special to all you SS people out there... Still, he's on the frugal side of even some of us! Bikes to work in a not-so-good area of Tacoma, and goes hunting for deer or elk once a year.

I'm not pleased with the shift at all, because it's 3:00-8:00 PM, so I can't get anything done.
I can't think of why. Whenever I'm in a particularly good mood, I worry that it's the "up" part of a mood swing, and that soon I will be in a "down." But this journal has helped me to see that I don't have many "downs." Hey, one less thing to worry about!
I'm trying to stop using plastic wrap, plastic bags, and limit how much foil I use. I have small Gladware containers, larger ones, and a bunch of glass containers with lids. Ideally I want to only use glass, but I just can't afford to yet. So I pick up things as I can. I especially want to stop using plastic wrap in the microwave (cancer&money issues) so I've been using waxed paper. Is that better or worse?? I wonder if the wax is bad? Anyway, the waxed paper is still cheaper.
and use it for storage
!! Do they still make Grolsh beer in this old fashioned swing top bottle? I had forgotten about those bottles! Thanks for the idea!
