To those with livestock - that is truly a beautiful sight! Lots of hay-making going on around here today. Went to my son's house, about 10 miles away and saw no less than 5 fields that were being cut or baled or had fresh bales in them. So nice!

Baling more alfalfa across the street today. With this heat, one day after cutting and it's dry.

Since you have no animals, I assume you lease that or just let them cut to "maintain" the field.

Lovely! We had a lot of cutting and baling going on here over the last few weeks too. The weather played along and it stayed dry long enough for everyone to get their fields done.

Haying also going on here as well. Usually, they'd be working on the second cut by now. This year, they're just getting the first cut done, and hard pressed to get it dried and baled before it gets rained on. First cut is over-mature, real seedy.

Not much hay being made around here, the fields were so wet all spring that hardly anything was growing. Late, cool spring and first crop of hay is starting in mid-July - not looking good for those farmers that are trying to feed their cows. I don't think anyone is going to get a 3rd crop of hay this year.
