I just wanted to say HI and I'm really happy I found this forum. We are getting chickens soon (saw some chicken posts) and I went "no poo" last week. As in stopped using shampoo (that's how I found this board) and trying to get rid of SLS in the home in general. I make Cloth diapers, but my kids don't use them anymore. I still sell them though!

We try to live a healthy lifestyle and are working toward being more sustainable. I wish we had a longer growing season. 3 months just doesn't cut it with most fruits and Veggies.

Any questions, just ask!

:welcome from East Tennessee. Bet you could find some good tips on here and TheEasyGarden.com for extending your growing season. Where there's a will, there's a way.

:welcome At first I couldn't understand how you only had a 3 month growing season in California, but I guess you must live pretty high up in northern California. Have you tried to extend your growing season with hoop houses and the like?

:welcome Hiya!

What about cold frames? Build a raised bed type container, fill the bottom with fresh manure, top with a thick layer of good soil & cover with a hoop type house?
