Hillfarm - good news, thank heavens.

They could be anconas?

IDK. I got two thinking they were the barred rocks. they still may be. But I have this big bird with the barred rock markings on his or her feathers from the same bin. So I'm thinking she is the barred rock, but she may be a plymouth rock.

I really just want lotsa eggs and cute chickies. I will show updates and maybe then I will be able to identify them better. The bantams should be gorgeous. I have one that is lavender and peach that is a porceilin d'uccle and a millie fleur. the other two bantams I forgot what they called em. A pencil duccle i think and samatran. maybe. I dont remember. I hate being so old. heehee. I turn 40 this month. Im using it as my scape goat for my piss poor memory. lol

They are cute are'nt they. I want more. muhhhhaaaa. rubs hands together as I think of ways to sneak more past hubby. He is supportive though. He said he loves how happy this has made me. I'm all grins.

barred rocks are all black with a white dot on the head, and white tushies. They have yellow feet, and if they are females with will have grey on the front of their feet. I have no idea what the black and white cow looking ones are.

thanks. that has been what im hearing. i have one barred rock. no clue what the panda cow babies are. and the all yellow with barred or laced feathers is undetermined too. ughhh.

I think Im gonna just give up. :idunno

No idea on what breed, but they are so cute and fluffy! Amazing how quickly babies of every sort grow up.

thanks miss. thats what i think i am sure of now is that the one in the top right corner with the lil white dot on its black head is a barred rock.

I just hope they all survive to become healthy lil hens. no roos. I have the best sweetest buff orp and he's man enuf.

All roos will be rehomed in stew pots or craigslist. whichever shows up first. ;)

The panda/cow chicks have been identified. they are exchequer leghorns. rare and rather cool. ;)

The bantams are being slowly figured out.

:thumbsup

My first radishes and new tomatoes growing. Made a salad of buttercrunch and mesculan lettuces and threw in radishes and chives.
Carrots and peas are sprouting and trying. Gonna need more rain and sun to get them up and out. Im gonna take a pic of my new potatoes tonite. They are so huge, I have nipped the blossoms off, cus I think I read somewhere that helped the growth of the tato. IDK.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

You are harvesting stuff already?!?!?!

Im in central Texas. Its been hot and dry as a bone. First rain was sunday in two months. So I have been watering everything trying to keep it alive. The salad garden is doing great, the rest is slowly beginning to pop up.

Course, I have learned to get the cold crops out early here, nothing much grows in the dead of summer. just alot of dirt. I also use cold frames and a green house. So I definantly cheat a bit. but the salad stuff, was all from seed and big and pretty.

Now if I could just get some rain, my water bill jumbed 45 dollars this month. :hit
