Home made granola bars?

Anyone here have a tried and true recipe? I am tired of buying the commercial types but my kiddos like them in their lunches. I would feel better if I could make my own and know what is in them (my wallet would probably be happy too!)

I don't think these would be considered granola bars but I guess that would depend on the ingredients....

We had some opened boxes of cereal that had seen better days and taking up cupboard space so instead of throwing them out I crushed some, left some whole and mixed together with raisins, uncooked oatmeal, dried mixed fruit, nuts, chocolate chips and then mixed it all with melted marshmallows-kinda like homemade Rice Krispy Treats. I don't see why you couldn't adjust the ingredients to whatever you have on hand or want to add. Just an idea...good luck!
