Homemade Aloe Vera Gel?

Does anyone know how to make stable aloe vera gel at home?

I use it a lot, and don't want to snip, peel and slice leaves every day.

I would like to harvest every couple weeks, process it into gel somehow and have it somewhat portable.

It says you need sodium benzoate and citric acid (Vitamin C) to preserve it, but I have never done this myself before.

I have a huge "leaf" of it that we also snip off when we need it. It is a little in the way so maybe I will try this, too!

How about putting it in a food dryer and making flakes or powder?

Thanks for the site famer - I'll try it.

When I skinned and cut the leaf though, the juice didn't run out..... the 'slice' just dried up....... I'll try more experiments.
