After the house quit shaking, the first thing I thought of was communications. I immediately tried the cell phone and it wasn't working. I want an old tube type ham radio for communicating and hearing what is going on when TSHTF or some other disaster happens. Like the hurricane for instance.

I certainly plan to increase my storage supplies after experiencing that! It was my first and I hope my last earthquake!

I think this is very interesting happening where they both did today. I hope a BIG wake up call for the unprepared! I am glad you are alright :) Last time I experienced one was when I was in WA. in 2001? the bed dropped sharp twice about 6-8 inches down is what it felt like rather than a rolling wave as I have experienced before. Not fun, I checked on my kiddos who slept through it all and then checked on my parents who were in their rv and thought someone was trying to hitch them up to steal it  we all laughed and went back to bed and slept through any aftershocks.
