How do a person's political views relate to self sufficiency?

mankind in general.

those who are somewhat secure feel the unfortunate as a noose around their neck.

and if anyone finds this untrue take a deeper look into true human nature

not a number gal for the simple fact it never solves a problem other than straight mathematical in nature. humans can't be defined by a pie chart and how humans treat society and unfortunates can't be measured in that form either to me

change needs to happen and not a damn big group will stand up and say enough is enough, make changes at any cost for the higher good.

change is scary and despised on so many levels it is frightening

First thing I learned in college statistics was they are notoriously easy to manipulate to fit any agenda.

Second, many contribute to charities anonymously. There are sooo many 50/50 raffles that go to charity, yet the individuals participating get no personal recognition. Sometimes, as in the case of my employer, the proceeds of the 50/50 are listed as contributed by that business. It never occurred to me to inquire what political affiliation my boss was- it went to the local food bank and that was all that mattered in the spirit of the collection. The winner of the raffle donated the winnings back into the pool. I'm thinking that some of those employees are not conservatives. So what.
The question then becomes who is taking notoriety for charitable contributions? Does that really represent who has made the donations?

So basically whatever Scott, Rein, or I say nobody is going to believe it anyway.

Pretty much sounds that way....even if proof was offered, some people don't care about numbers or scientific proof for that matter.

Kind of reminds me of another topic. One in which it was recently proven that numbers were tampered with...yet no one seems to care.

But since it is not related to this topic, I will save that for another thread.

No, for the same reason you don't believe what they say.

Everyone here is entitled to believe what they want.

Exactly. When the statistics work in the conservative view's favor, they're manipulated, when they work in the liberal's favor, it's to prove that conservatives are all evil moneygrubbers who hope for failure for everyone else.

I don't recall the post where conservatives were called evil moneygrubbers who hope for failure for everyone else.

I have actually researched the charity topic and was disappointed to find out a lot of it was tied to religion. As a non-religious person who does donate a lot despite my lack of resources, I am a bit torqued at my fellow non-believers for being a bunch of cheap-a$$es :P

I got lost in it all. I can't tell the conservatives from the liberals anymore. Just sounds like an argument between Scott and some other folks just for the sake of arguing.

I think Reinbeau has been doing a good job of keeping out of it. :thumbsup
