Political views played very little in our decision to become self sufficient. We entered the self sufficient excitement during the months prior to the Y2K.
The only places to learn about preparing and procuring supplies was on shortwave and other right leaning radio shows on commercial airways. We completely disregarded the political bend and listened intently to the info we needed. I think they were aiming for rural isolated audiences, but many of us suburban progressives were tuning in.
Companies entering the solar markets, like Siemens, were regular guests.
I found it interesting that these shows and companies were taking advantage of solar credits from Clinton's administration, to further their audiences and profits. A buck is a buck.
