Can I just take rice and grind it and it is the same thing? or is it completely different.
To buy it it is really expensive. But if it can be made I would love to be able to do it.
Thanks so much.

I have never tried to grind rice. Have grinded millet, quinoa and oats in food processor. Worked out pretty well. I would suggest using millet instead of rice as a substitute. Millet has a consistancy and taste similiar to wheat and oats. Works much better in recipes, especially baked goods.

My mom grinds her own but says it is grittier than when professionally ground.

It's funny that you mention this. My sil just found out she is allergic to gluten. I noticed almost everything gluten free is made with rice flour. I was thinking the same thing, Can I grind it myself? Should we try it? What should I make? I know my Mom used to grind rice and we used it as a hot cereal. Maybe just go a bit further and get flour.

One more thing to do tomorrow!!!! :weee
