How many writers do we have here?

This is interesting. Have you been published?

I have always wondered how one goes about getting something published? I (for whatever reason) assume it is hard to get accomplished?

Any info you can shout out would be great.

I have a friend that wrote a wonderful little children's book. She has yet to have it published. I was surprised that it was so regimented, so many words per page because of illustrations, no more than X number of words, pages, on and on.

It's been a while since I have talked to her, so I'll message and see what else was involved.

I used to have some links to help with writing and publishing, but when the old computer crashed, poof, they were gone. One of these days soon, I'll do some searching and post some links.

A long time ago I had grand delusions, I mean illusions of writing a novel. Any more, I'd be happy with a short story. Neko, I sure understand where you're coming from. I used to be highly creative...then life happened and sucked it right out of me. Let's help each other find our mojo again!

I took an online writer's course several years ago. The best thing was that they'd give you a partial sentence, then you took it from there.

Not published yet. In the process of getting illustrations done right now. Getting published can be difficult.

I wrote the books as a gift for my boys and nephews for whom the stories derived their inspiration. And then had others ask for copies when they're published. I can't illustrate for the life of me, so I've had to hire that one out but it was difficult to find someone who I wanted to work with. I fired my first illustrator for taking forever and not producing results.

My friend had another friend do her illustrations (paid), and the publisher would not accept them. She was told that they had their own illustrator that would do them.

I would have a hard time explaining what I had pictured for the page, I think.
