I've been doing a little investigating on solar hot water systems.
I came across this site and thought it was pretty good. It is selling a book, but goes into the basics of it on the site.

I don't think I'm going to build one, but hopefully someone could use the info.

I think I would like to install professionally made panels. Anyone have any leads as to a good company?

Looks like this topic is dead, but if anyone is still interested in solar water heating progects, id like to recommend Builditsolar.com. Its a non-profit diy site with tons of cool plans. I built a passive, thermosiphon solar water heater for about $200, using ideas from the site.

Yes! I love builditsolar! Tons of projects there, and a lot of them are really cheap for the DIY person! More bang for your buck that way.

I'll have to look into it when I have the time.

Hubby installed heliodyne for my parents, and they like it. It's a small array that heats their domestic hot water.

Thanks for posting the link, my husband and I will try to browse and see what it can do to help us build our own solar panel.
