How to disable e-mail notices

I don't want an e-mail every time somebody replies to something I have commented on. Each time I get an e-mail notice, I go through the process of disabling all e-mail notices for this forum, but it doesn't seem to do any good.
How can I permanently disable all e-mails? This is getting frustrating!

How did you disable?
Testing.... went to alerts (top right hand corner) then to settings and un-checked everything.

Ok.. so alerts are 'in site' (I think).
I changed my message prefferences... so will see if I get an email the next time somone postes here again.

I can't find where you can disable the emails either. You are automatically set up to "watch" all threads that you post in....maybe it's as simple as unwatching the thread....at the top of the thread.
