Congrats on the w/d! That's always a relief to have the old ones out and the new ones in and everything working well! Hope you get the drive way done. That'll help with the 'to do' list for sure!

YES!!!! The new ones are working beautifully! I'm working through the learning curve of figuring out how to manage the loads and how much can be put in for the load to run smoothly. I did find out that the washer handled our thick queen mattress pad with no trouble, but the dryer wasn't happy about it. Oops.
Not much else happening. I'm trying to do some nice stuff for the BF for his birthday, but I think it's going to put me over budget. If I can smash enough hours into the next couple of days then that should take care of things for the most part. Being able to work from home sure does help!
I need to go to the grocery store, but I'm not all that thrilled about it since I know it will be busy, and it will only get worse for the next week. I already don't like the grocery store enough and now it's just going to be a mad house. Of course I have no idea what to cook, but I guess I'll figure something out. I also need to return some slippers to BJ's, I bought them for the BF for his birthday, but the bigger size was too large, so I had to go back and get the smaller size. I bought those before returning the other ones, so now I've got to take them back. I hope I can do that tomorrow afternoon, too.
The BF's brother is getting married at the court house tomorrow, and apparently depending on how busy it is, it could take a long time. Not very excited about that, I have too much to do tomorrow afternoon to sit around a courthouse. If it wasn't a crazy violation of the rules, I'd take my laptop and work while we waited. Of course, that would probably guarantee we won't wait, so maybe that's not a bad idea either. I'm going to try to stop by a cupcake place and buy them some cute cupcakes, but we'll see if I can make it there with my busy schedule. Dang. I just checked their hours, if I'm going to do that I HAVE to go today on my way home. As if I wanted another place to stop.
The weekend looks a bit rainy, which isn't all that much fun, but hopefully we can still get some things done. We need to get that landscape fabric laid down for the driveway. He wants it done by his birthday, but somehow I'm not sure if that will happen since we aren't prepared for the gravel yet at all. We'll see anyway. So many things are a waiting game at this point!

I absolutely hate waiting - so I hope your down time at the courthouse isn't too long. I'm going to think positively that you get all the things on your 'to do' list taken care of with a minimum of waiting time! Hope the rain holds off. I think we've got rain in our forecast too...ugh!

waiting got a lot easier for me once I took up knitting. It's about the only time I have for knitting, so projects take a long time, but at least I'm not staring at the walls or reading 3 year old copies of People and Ladies Home Journal.

I never touch the magazines in waiting rooms, lol, especially in a doctor's office! ARGH - Germaphobe here! I used to crochet though - I'm thinking about taking it up again.

I like to tat - and the tatting shuttle is so small it is easy to carry around, lol. Most people have never seen someone tat, so you do get interrupted - a lot.

i tried to get my neighbor to teach me to tat many years ago but we never got around to it before she moved away to stay with her daughter. she passed away not long after that. have always missed her. Mom knits any time she gets a chance. i won't learn that from her because i have other things i'd rather do here. tatting would have been something to do when stuck someplace without a book. yes, i'm a guy, yes, i'm straight, i have always found looms and similar technologies interesting... it is after all like programming/patterns/etc...

That made me smile because:
I just sold some goats. Two macho men came out to buy them and kept asking my husband questions about price and what's for sale and so on.... He finally told them "She's the farmer - not me!"

Today I was outside working in the garden and tearing down and repurposing some old pens while he was inside cleaning. He's a retired nurse and a much better organizer than I am from years of working the ER. You have to be organized in the ER! We each love our roles and have totally embraced them.

He has health issues and does better inside in a climate controlled situation - I love being outside. It works for us!

happiness is finding what works for everyone and trying to let them do it as much as they can. i do need a certain amount of space here or there but we've managed to make this work even living in a small house.

Actually, knitting, crochet, and tatting - as well as macrame - were all started by men. Specifically sailors to while away the long hours at sea. Women came along and took over later. And don't forget Rosey Grier- the football player that made needlepoint ok for men back in the 70's!
