Well I said usually. There are also entire breeds that have stronger tasting milk, like toggenburgs. And they stay if you house your bucks with your does it makes the milk taste bucky, but I don't know that firsthand.

we had toggs, and I didn't notice a stronger taste. I've heard it said though.

We live in deer country, so we checked with county extension before starting a garden. They told us that electric fence for deer work better if the fence is up before the garden is started - so we did that. Our garden fence is 8 feet tall, 4 strands of electric and a ground wire about knee level. We had one deer in the fence this year - our 4th year - and I fervently hope that one was killed during hunting season.
