Oh, everything is on a powerstrip, so the house asks for nothing when they are all off.  But the 700 watt microwave uses less in 5 minutes than the 1100 watt cooktop, which takes much longer than 5 minutes to do the same thing.  But I don't cook much in the microwave, maybe a baked potato in 5 minutes, heat water for tea, melt cheese, heat up burritos and sandwiches.    Anything that takes more time happens on the BBQ.
I do have a new cool remote light turner-on-er that I can keep in the car, and turn a light on inside the house from outside that also lights up the pathway to the door. Don't even have to get out of bed to turn a major light on if there are any strange noises. It's nice, but haven't had it in Dec/Jan when extras are precious.
