...not to shabby for an :old fat man with a bad heart!!
May 27th was the 5th anniversary of my heart attack. I have been working out 3 days a week, doing cardio and weight training every since my heart attack, but I just started running a couple of days a month, about 4 months ago. I just might try to do my first 5k before the summer is over....... :ep :ep

Congratulations! I think 5ks can be fun.... well I used to anyway.

Be sensible how and where you run, so you don't blow out your knees.

Congrats! That is a big accomplishment...I am glad to hear that your heart attack served as a call to action! Nice work :)

Good job SKR8PN! :) I am not much of a runner; but I do try to workout regularly, which includes aerobic and also working out with lightweights.

Great job!!! :weee
I am a runner and ran competitively for many years as an adult.
A 5K is a faster race than the 10K, but just run your pace and don't let others pull you along into a pace you can't maintain for the entire 3.1 miles and you will be fine! A runner's watch will be your best friend in this department to keep you on your own pace.
If you need pointers, tips or encouragement PM me! I think running is about my all time favorite subject to talk about! My Dh is tired of hearing about each exciting mile when I return home from my daily runs, hahaha.

I'm impressed! There is no way I could run 2.25 miles.
