Aw, thanks
So here's the story and I'll leave out gross details.
What a crash course for a newbie!
I was up watching the girls most of the night last night. They were restless and I just knew. By 8am, I knew Perdy would go so I called hubby at 9 and asked him if he could come home, but no go, he could not leave. So then I called my best friend and she came out at 11-ish, and she brought her 17 year old son who provided comic relief and was really a great help all around - from entertaining my daughter to calming the goats.
So by the time they got here, there was more 'evidence' that it would be soon for Perdy. At 12:30 we looked out and saw Rory was going fast too

A few minutes later my friend said "I have a feeling we need to get out there" and sure enough Rory was on the ground starting to push. We got out there fast and realized they were both pushing. Holy carp! Perdy needed just a tiny bit of help - a hoof was back. No problem, I got it right out. That baby came out and both does were on it, cleaning and talking and nuzzling. It was sweet. (they have done this routine before) Rory had a little trouble and I helped her out and boom! there was another baby to clean - this all happened in seconds. They quickly got back to pushing the next kids out, one from each doe right after the other. I was pulling, cleaning the airways and handing them off to get dry. Perdy had just one more and it was all over. Whew. Then we waited for awhile to make sure and that's that.
Hubby missed the whole thing! My 4 year old watched until she got cold, and my 'farming angel' best friend has already claimed 2 of the does. (we'll see about that)
The buckling is huge! and a troublemaker already. Right after he was born he was a little confused about who his mama was and wouldn't stay out of my lap. Then, not 15 minute old he climbed a straw bale and stood on it

And we named him after my friend's son who was so helpful - Jared.
The girls are Rachel, Leah, Dinah, and Silver. Silver has a silver head, so that's what stuck.
They are doing great, all eating, and sharing their 2 doting mamas. We got a warming box set up and put sweater on them.
I'll get better photos tomorrow if I can.
Goats in coats. Whoops! it's sideways and I can't fix it right now.
