Sigh, I was so excited to see the sun this morning, in spite of the fog and the raindrops dripping off of everything, because it rained all night. Yes, in Ohio there was one tiny little strip of rain that cut across the state and I was in it. Anyway. So the sun is out. I grab my milking supplies and fly out the door. Only to be hit with a wall of skunk stink and I think maybe diesel fuel so bad I almost vomited. So wet + skunk smell pretty much canceled out my excitement. I gagged my way through milking, fed the chickens, made Fran the duck hiss at me, and came inside and found a tick on me

.
The kids just told me excitedly that there's only 10 DAYS of school leftWow. On one hand it will be nice because my morning will slow down tremendously. On the other...well, there's going to have to be some new rules established about how I'm not a maid or a personal chef. The adjustment period will be tough.

I'm here. Just felt a bit quiet this week. All the storms had me down. We got a couple more inches of rain this week. The lake is still out there and deeper than ever. I planted alot of seeds in an area I thought was safe and it turned out not to be. We got torrential rain one day and everything washed out. It's just a big depressing mess out there and it's nearly June.

I think I found a solution to the whole bummer situation which will work out - I'm not going to plant much, and the areas that I usually plant will get plowed, mulched, and prepared for fall and next spring.
