Hey all.... I just joined. I'm apparently not alone in the fact that I came over to check things out since BYC is down for conversion.

I am the second daughter in a family of 6, have been raising chickens for 7 years now, take care of our cow and her steer calf, and help out with the garden. We have been trying to get more self sufficient. So far not much luck, but hopefully soon things will grow better (and store longer!). We did have success over the summer with the 2 pigs my brother got. We now have the best pork I've ever had.

Looking forward to learning more stuff here!

When in Hungary we would kill the pigs in the fall and spring.All day task of processing and cooking. I agree it was the BEST ever pork.
