I just had authentic Korean food for the first time today with a friend. I fell in love! I had many different fermented dishes, including 4 different kinds of kimchi and a special fermented sweet drink. (I can't remember the name now.)
I'm on a new quest to learn to cook/ferment Korean foods. Here are a few recipes for anyone else interested.

Because her husband, my brother, is American all her friends think she is the expert on American cooking, and keep asking advice for things like the Thanksgiving turkey; she just says she hasn't learned, because her MIL, for many years, and now her SIL (me) does it. The first time we had dinner at their house she had 2 different kimchis on the table - one for them, and one for us (not so hot); we liked them both, but kept going back to the spicy one
