Hello all,

I had a quick question. I was attempting to make the dry laundry detergent and a question popped up when I went to buy the sodium carbonate (ph plus from walmart). I read on the package that it was an irritant and not to get it on the skin.

So my question is: is this really the right stuff? I was just a bit nervous about getting it.

Thank you so much for the help!

Are you talking about washing soda? I found mine at Krogers, I use grated bars of Ivory soap, baking soda, washing soda, and borax.

If you have a local grocery store you use you can ask the manager to order Arm & Hammer WASHING SODA (it's in a yellow box) and get it with their regular order of baking soda and they will usually do it if they are ordering from that company anyway.

Yes, the ph + is the same thing, and if used directly on skin, it can irritate, but when it is diluted with the water, in the pool and in the washing machine, it is fine.
