I broke the lawnmower.
I decided to do some stuff around the house today...washed the dog's bedding, pulled all the weeds in the flower beds, filled in a hole in the back flower bed where the electric line went in and put mulch on it, mucked out the goat barn, and then decided that I may as well mow the pasture. Evidently I missed one of the branches that was in the grass and it got lodged in the blade. I drove it up to the garage and raised the deck up all the way and got the branch out but now the blade won't engage at all. When I pull the PTO button it just clicks. I'm hoping that I just rattled something loose and it will be an easy fix but worse case scenario I may have really screwed it up and messed up the innards to the dang thing. So much for hubby's extra money.
The good thing is that I put an ad on Craigslist for light tree work and storm clean up and my husband has been flooded with calls today. He is leaving work to go give 2 estimates today. He was supposed to guide a hunt Saturday morning but he may just let his business partners handle it and finish up some of the tree jobs he is doing.
I have a lady that is negotiating with me to buy the ducks. I'm trying to get rid of them cause they are eating me out of house and home and are competing with the chickens for feed. I have 11 right now and want to go down to 4. I told her I would sell her the two adult pairs and three ducklings for $60 so we'll see what she says. It's costing me more to keep them than to just get rid of them. Then I could at least contribute some to the lawnmower bill
I also have to print up contracts for meat birds again....gonna have to order then by the end of the month. I want to do 30 for us so worst case scenario we just have to do those 30. It would be nice if we could make enough on extra birds to pay for ours though but for that we'll need to do at least 60 total again.
I have to buy another tarp for the tractor but that won't be that bad. Maybe $20 for a heavy duty one.
I can't believe I broke the stupid lawnmower.
