Low carb eaters.....

I have been at this a week too and I don't think I have lost more than a pound. I lost 1 inch in the small of my waist though.

I agree that you should measure and post what you are eating daily. Posting does two things, 1) we can all see it and comment and 2) it helps you to remember and be more aware of what you put in your mouth.

How are you doing with your veggie intake?

Give us your list, right down to the smallest piece of gum or tictac. We will be happy to pick it apart! :D
Gak!! The naked feeling of doing that would scare me right into dietary submission!!

Actually, I hear all the time that the very act of journaling food is pretty helpful. I know when I did an online diet forum (I was trying to get off sugar, not lose weight), the very pain-in-the-buttness of having to put in EVERY thing kept me from grabbing a couple of this, a handful of that and a mouthful of the other thing.

well, I haven't been writing stuff down.

I know I've been eating lots of squash! I'll eat an entire butternut for lunch.
I've been eating lots of peanut butter (natural)
tryin' to get more veggies.

I need to start writing stuff down again. when I did that on WW I saw what I was eating. I tend to nibble while cooking....

Those nibbling calories count too.

I had a lot of success with the Feed Bag Program ;) Fill up a sandwich sized baggy with veggies, it should weigh about a pound. Work your way thru it through out the day.

Also just like when I used to go to the gym, if I am going to do it it has to be early. I won't exercise late in the day and I can't cram in a full days worth of fruits and veg late in the day either. I start out my day with a smoothie (which I affectionately call the 3/4 pounder) and in it I cram 5 servings of fruit and veg.BAM!...already doing better than I was pre-Diet Reform! Between lunch and a snack I pack in another 3. By dinner....not only am I not all that hungry but I don't even have to eat another veg if I am not in the mood. I do, but the obligation is already fulfilled. For me this is much easier, and I am too full the feel the need to eat other things, like carbs.

*Disclaimer- when I say success I do not mean weight loss because I think I am sabotaging my self with a daily beer or two. BUT I do mean success in getting an increased amount of veggies into my body!

Okiegirl,

Why don't ya just make a food journal here. I've been piggy backing a little bit on Dace's journal. :P

(Dace I save all my carbs for a glass of wine! )

I agree with the rest of the ladies, MEASURE. Also, gauge by how your clothes are fitting and how you are feeling in general. I haven't weighed myself since July? August? The last time I went to MIL's house
BUT, I'm almost able to wear my 2 sizes smaller goal jeans in public. When I head back to MIL's for Thanksgiving, I'm betting I won't have lost much weight, if any, but I'll be wearing those jeans!

I am bad, I just crave a cold beer at night when I am cooking and one when I sit down to relax with Hubby at the end of the day. I never got into wine, I tried but it gives me an acid stomach.

I really want to have my muffin top ease up by next Thanksgiving, not go away just shrink up a little. I have 8 days. I already FEEL worlds better so I know I am on the right track.....gonna have to forgo the evening beverage if I want to wear a smaller jean...or even regular jeans with a snug top! God I hate the muffin top :barnie

I've cut back considerably on the refreshing beverages since I started this low carb thing.

I love ice cold beer too. (And now I am surrounded by the infamous Pacific Northwest brew pubs too, that doesn't help.) But there is a low carb beer out there, a.k.a. "girly beer". I'm thinking about trying it. :P
