The site tends to look flashy, but everything in it is true.

Maca has been eaten in Peru for centuries, and scientists have been intrigued with the fact that it truly is everything that Peruvians have known it to be all along.

Good info here as well.

We have used several brands, but we strive to make sure it is always organic and raw, regardless of the brand.

I have a thread from last week, that you will also find interesting.
Deals with the links between adrenal fatigue, Fybro and Chronic fatigue.

Not much discussion, but all the links are good!

So it increases fertility? I think I'd be afraid of it interfering with other medications....

Maca is just a root vege from the radish family.
It has zero known interactions with anything.

It increases fertility, by supporting the endocrine system to work properly.

I just went back on it this week to help deal with some fatigue and other stuff that is going on with me. It helps me function better. It is an adaptogen, so the body will use it as it needs. Somebody else will have to give a lesson on adaptogens, I'm not up to it ;)
I get the powder and it has a king of graham cracker smell and flavor. Some people like it - I do, and others gag on it. It can be bought in capsule form too.

This is how I explain adaptogens: Some herbs will "push" your body chemistry in a certain direction. Sometimes they will push it too far, and you will get negative symtoms. Let's say the pendulum has swung to far to the left, these herbs might push it to the right, then past center, and too far to the right. Now you are out of balance in the other direction.

Adaptogens help bring your body back into proper balance, and won't push it too far in one direction or the other. They will help the pendulum get centered, and will not push it in either direction once it is balanced.

So kind of like vitamin C..... no matter how much you take, your body only uses what it needs and excretes the rest. As opposed to like, st. john's wort which can mess with stuff in the wrong doses... Does that make sense, am I understanding correctly?
