Manufacturing making a comeback?

It's terribly unkind to say we are all sheep, when choices are limited.
We didn't create most of the problems we see with manufacturing jobs leaving the country and we didn't creat the social stratification we see, currently..
When the most fearful, who are also the most vocal, steer a country, we aren't left with many choices, regardless of how carefully we plan and prepare our path towards our goals, unless we can afford to move to a society with more options.

It was not my intention to put any one down in particular.We are products of our environment.Advertising surrounds us many times on a daily basis.We do have the choice to live better lives even with limited options.When I was a young lad I lived in Germany on a Canadian air force base for four years.This was in the early sixties.
The German people were still rebuilding a devastated land after the war,led by a megalomaniac.He left them shredded.By hard work and planning they rebuilt their country into a better land.I saw people digging up scrap metal by shovel and pick to open up garden areas.Grass roots organization was the key to success.Open free markets offering produce and locally made goods made from recycled materials abounded.
It took time and hard work but they made good come from the destruction.Here we have been following our leaders of government and industry while they lined their pockets and left us all holding the bill.We have become complacent and used to overextending our finances because we are bombarded by advertising and propaganda.eg.monkey see,monkey do.Mighty oaks start from a little acorn.all they need is what they have and room to grow.If a person has a window they can put in a window box and grow a herb garden.The choices and changes we make do not have to be risky or drastic to start.Once started though you are on your way.
I am optomistic when it comes to the ingenuity of people.It is up to people to say I can do that,and do it.Make the decision to open options.Set a realistic goal and head for it.Yeah you might skin your knee or make a bad choice,however you will be in charge of your own destiny.

Too add on to laughingmouse. Since when has a bonus been a requirement. I didn't get out my dictionary, but I'm quite certain a bonus is a reward for a job well done. Who in their right mind gives someone a bonus for running a company in the tank? A bonus should never be in a contract. It should be a addition to your salary/benefits as a pat on the back. Whoever expects a bonus needs a reality check especially in this economy. If you make a company successful then you might get a bonus. CEO's have learned how to manipulate the system to the point it can't work. Like these guys saying they will donate all of their salary to a charity. Well, we really appreciate that. We really do, BUT don't act like you are going to work for free because your salary was 1 million a year and your bonuses and stock options are 10 million a year. You sure we are not all sheep. Me included.
Well, guys, all this common sense. If there was such a thing, don't you think we would have arrived at it and had it written in stone already? There are common sense solutions such as "don't play with matches" and "don't **** where you eat", but those don't run countries or animate societies. Common sense also is a sign of the times. During the boom times it would have been looked upon as idiocy to see someone selling off automotive or financial institution stocks. A few months ago...not so much.
The other point I'd like to make is that Germany, recovering after WWII, was doing nearly all of it on the US's dime. The Germans did the work, sure, but they didn't finance it. Now, you'll find that I'm a very amiable person who thinks foreign aid is just fine, but for the purpose of your statement it was kinda wrong. The reason I'm saying it is because I can't help but point out that Frankie thinks Foreign Aid should be should be in the forefront of graduation speeches.

I believe my comment regarding foreign aid was to quit handing it out to those who hate us.
Only in the liberal mind is it somehow wrong or silly to expect people to earn their own way and build their own life without someone else paying for it.
