A lot of the Maple Sugar Bushes have the plastic lines going from tree to tree from the 1970's on. Many of the bushes are now in disuse for a number of reasons; a park now owns it, a developer bought it, the original owners are tired of it, etc.
I went on a hike that was full of these tubings and told that we could come and take as much as we wanted. There were fittings, T fittings, hangers, spiles and the like. They want the lines gone!
We have about 100 production size virgin sugar maples so this was a no-brainer for us! And no buckets to haul.

Awesome!

I have been thinking about tapping my trees, but I am in Colorado. I used to do it in Wisconsin, but our weather here is so weird.
