I've only ever helped do goats. Doing calves sounds like a little more 'fun'. Best to you and threading those things into the hole of the band
Those are made for smaller calves... you can do up to a 250-300 lb calf with them...they stretch pretty good to a size... and with calves you often pull one side at a time through when they are larger.... anything big or more mature we use the callicrate bander... or some use a "california bander"... Have done them up to 6-700 lbs when necessary... actually prefer the callicrate bander to do calves if not done as small baby babies.... it cuts off the circulation within 20 minutes, and the pain response..... and they go right back to acting normal within an hour... the little green cheerios as we call them, take longer to cut off the circulation... but we try to do the small size calves within a few days to a few weeks with the green cheerios.....
