Milestone - 1st chicken processed

We actually processed him Friday evening, but tonight we just had our first homegrown chicken dinner here. While we are still feeling a bit philosophical about the whole responsibility aspect of raising and butchering our own meat ... that is one gourmet-tasting chicken.

Good for you! I bought 20 chicks at Christmas and half turned out to be roosters. We have already eaten 3 of them. The rest are in the freezer. Very good, tasty and we know what they ate and how they were raised. Congrats on your first processed chicken that you raised.

"sure, i'll get the ax , gloves,& the bucket"
done deal,you will never be skipping meals if you have a good supply
of chickens on hand.
