My left ear has been blocked for almost 2 weeks now. It is driving me crazy as I can hear only myself talk! I have tried holding my ear over a mug of hot water and that drains it but the blockage is still there. Any suggestions on what to do or something to use?

Have you ever tried ear candling? I haven't. So not sure about it lol. But it's supposed to draw stuff out.

All the little organic marts around here have them. I think I'd need a helper or I'd burn my hair off lol

It's something you can do at home? I thought it was a doctor thing. My 15-yo has a ton of wax in her left ear that is really bugging her.

That's what the package says LOL!! They sell them all over the place. I HAVE read that it can make you VERY dizzy for a couple days.

If its ear wax, just put 3 or 4 drops of warm olive oil in your ear and let it sit in there for about 5 minutes. Then use an eye dropper and flush the ear out with warm water.

Google ear candling - it's really not recommended. Ear wax is there for a reason. However, if you've got a build up, the warm olive oil works great to break it up a bit and get it out.

I've had my ears candled several times and it really works. I've also used the bulb syringe to flush my ears after softening the wax with the drops. Both methods worked if used correctly.

You can't candle yourself, though, you need someone to do it for you. And be patient, both methods take some time. May have to repeat.

My husband has always used a couple drops of peroxide to loosen ear wax. After waiting a bit, he used a baby 'snot sucker', the little blue bulb thing to gently flush it out with water.
I remember reading that you can lie down and have someone pour a couple drops at a time into your ear. Just watch some TV or whatever for half an hour then roll over to the other side and a lot of times the ear goop will just come out with the peroxide.

Some people have some mild irritation from the peroxide, but he never has. The old kits used peroxide, I don't know what the new ones have.

Cool! Allergy season my ears feel super dry inside.

I let the hot water in the shower pound into my ears lol. It feels great. But I bet warm olive oil wouldn't do too badly...
