having lived in the UP of MI (some years ago now) i understand what it is like to live in a place that gets a lot of snow and has a very short summer season.

Welcome from VA...where it's an almost unheard of 9* this morning. 48 is our norm for this time of year. I could not handle your weather . But good for you! It's life, right?
