Since we stay clear of cleaning chemicals, except for dish soap, occasional bleach and homemade laundry detergent, I have tended to use vinegar to mop the floors.
But I was never satisfied with the results.

Today, on a whim, I used a bit of the laundry detergent instead.
Best solution for mopping that I have ever used at home and commercially :thumbsup

We use dish soap to mop ours. Did you use your homemade laundry det or storebought?

The homemade :)
I have used dish soap, but never cared for the film left behind.

Yes, the film is annoying. I usually use really watered down vinegar, baking soda where it needs extra attention, but I'll have to try the laundry soap. I make mine, too.

Now that it is dried, I can still see film, but it is way cleaner then usual.

I used some laundry detergent for mopping before. It was a brand my skin did Not like. It made the floors look great.

That homemade laundry soap works excellent as a carpet cleaner too. In a pinch I've used it in my dishwasher too, but actually just borax and baking soda works better.

I've been using it as a spot remover on clothes, sprayed straight on the stain, after it was suggested to me on another thread, after rubbing in a bar of Fels naptha onto the stain. That worked great to get out some grease stains I had on a sweatshirt.

I use the homemade laundry detergent to clean just about everything around here now, if not baking soda or vinegar or dishwashing liquid. I stopped buying other products except a little bleach.
