Possibly work towards getting more SS with the birds by doing our own breeding and/or incubating instead of buying chicks every year. We did this with the turkeys in 2010 but had a pretty significant death loss.

Get bees (again) and keep protected from bears. Hoping this 3rd time will be the one that takes!

Actually, as we are getting DNR $ for this, we will need to allow bear hunters on our land. Yikes! Maybe DH will get a tag rather than paying more $ to keep applying and go way up north.

For now, we have the hives fenced in and connected to a huge battery. Kind of a pain, though, with keeping the grass trimmed and fence maintained.
