We are in the Central Valley of California, in the foothills. Have a 1/2 acre of land. Currently we have a flock of 8 two year old hens for egg's, another 15 chicks in the brooder to add to the flock. I started beekeeping last year and at this time have one hive, but hope to expand that next year. After having a small garden for the past two years in raised beds, I purchased a rototiller and am expanding the garden to a larger area to supply the family with more fresh and canned vegi's. We can vegi's bought at the local farmers market, make our own sausage (This is from meat purchased at the local market) and I have been homebrewing for the past 20 years. We also have a dehydrater that we use at times. There is a lemon, orange and fig tree on the property. I am looking to add a peach, plum and olive tree this year.
