Is the heat getting to ya's?? I tell ya what...I lived there for 6 years...and LOVED IT! We had to come back closer to our parents..because of thier health issues.....but I wish I would have never left.

You guys must be crazy...Alaska, NEVER...I live far enough north already and don't need any more cold than I already have...plus I'm seasonal affective...I would be in the looney tooney bin in no time at all...Cold, shorter summer...and don't the day/night cycles have issues too? (Not sure but I know the territories here do in the most Northern parts) Who in thier right mind would wanna move to a place like that!

My DH lived there for 8 years and loved it. We often talk of moving there. He would go back in a heart beat. But we both know it is just talk. When he lived there he had no electricity and no running water. Picked up coal off the beach for his stove to cook and heat with. Went into town once a week for a hot shower.
Not sure I am up to all that at my age. Of course I realize that there are lots of towns and cities there with all the amenities but hey, why go if you just going to move to another city with different weather.
